Waves III

This is not a calm sea. Deep sapphire fills the canvas like a held breath — dense, pressurized — and white breaks through in bursts, like light hitting foam on dark water at night. There is drama here, and intent.

The dark ground was built first — multiple layers of navy and sapphire, each one drying before the next, deepening the blue until it had the weight of water. The white was applied last, fast and decisive, dragged across the surface with a loaded brush.
