Cerulean Tide

There is a wave in this painting that never quite breaks. Cerulean pushes forward on a diagonal, heavy and luminous, while white holds the edges open. It is not a seascape — but it carries the same breath: that suspended moment just before the water comes down.

Built entirely by palette knife — acrylic loaded and dragged across the surface in wide, fast strokes. The dark earth tones in the lower corner were laid down first, anchoring the composition before the cerulean took over. The white was scraped in last, pulling light back through the blue.
